Ok, we've taken the plunge.
The organizational blog I talked about before is launched. I now have my personal blog here, and my Pioneers blog. If you're interested, you can see it here.
It's going to take me a bit to get into the flow of it. I'm nervous, and excited about it at the same time.

Ooh, is that a paid wordpress blog? Special. I note that you haven't announced it until now, seeing that you've been writing if for a few weeks. Heh. I used a similar strategy when I first started writing my blog.
Methinks it will prove very handy in getting the message out and getting some conversations going. Prospective people will probably hit it on their first google search, I would guess.
I considered creating such a blog for each of my last two companies (and for my church). However, that really opens the organization up to comments, particularly bad ones. It's a tough medium to control. If the organization feels like they need to control what people say, either from inside or outside the org, they're much less likely to permit a blog. It's quite the tightrope to cross sometimes.
In this case, though, I think that the benefits will far outweigh the potential problems.
Jen, great, you've now gone public with our "corporate" blog. I've been waiting for this moment and will now look forward to the interactions it creates. I know it is a risk but one well worth taking. Thanks for your hard work in creating it.
